From the very beginning, the organisers of Mužla organised a wine tour with no performers or concert bands. The only reason people come here is for the fine wines and the warm hospitality. As József Becse, the well-known winemaker, says: “The characteristic feature of the Mužla vineyard is that the cellars are scattered all over the mountain, relatively far apart, because people built the cellars in the 1960s and 1970s next to their own vineyards. It is a wine tour in the literal sense of the word, as you have to walk up to four kilometres on mountain roads to get to this area”, as the organisers themselves put it: ‘Sitting down at each winery and talking over good wine – that’s the whole point of the Mužla Wine Tour’.
